Redditch history is very much related to the Industrial Revolution in England. The town has had an important impact on manufacturing and its products are known throughout the world. These products include needles, fishing tackle, batteries, springs, motorbikes and other light industrial products.

 

However, there are some important parts in the history of the town which occur before and after this period in British history and we hope that you will appreciate the interesting history of this town which encompasses a period of nearly 1000 years.

 

There are a number of sites which are available on the web which cover some aspect of the history of Redditch and these add together to give a good picture of the town’s history.

 

The purpose of this site is to give a brief introduction to the various aspects of the town’s history but essentially to be a portal to the the various sites which encompass the history of Redditch
